Gillette Unveils ‘Avengers-Inspired Technology’ in Joint Venture With Stark Industries

Details were finally revealed about the long-rumored partnership between Stark Industries and Gillette at their World Shaving Headquarters in Boston at an eventful press conference – that included a surprise appearance by Stan Lee – on Thursday in South Boston.

The company that proudly proclaims itself as “the best a man can get” revealed a set of four prototype razors built with “Avengers-inspired technology” which included the Repulsor 1 (inspired by Iron Man), UltraStrike (inspired by Captain America), Thunder (inspired by Thor) and XL Gamma (inspired by The Hulk).

“Stark Industries and Gillette are bringing immeasurable power into your life, into your home…into your bathroom,” boasted the innovation film unveiled today that cleverly (and rather humorously) introduces each of the four prototypes. This was followed by a presentation from Stew Taub, Director of Shave Care R&D at Gillette, stating: “Now you know what happens when Avengers-inspired technology is brought into the shaving lab.”

Abe Zimmer from Stark Industries R&D then took the audience through a verbal description of the four Avengers-inspired prototypes, including the XL Gamma, which features stress-triggered sensors and an unstable molecular structure that can increase up to 700% in razor mass and brute shaving force. “[Before using the XL Gamma], you may want to do a half hour meditation and come to the sink relaxed,” Zimmer cautioned.

As he continued, the illustrious Stan Lee shocked and awed the crowd and made a surprise cameo appearance – because, how could he not?

Unfortunately, the Avengers-inspired razors won’t be available to the general public anytime soon, “in stores, online, or anywhere, really,” according to a Gillette press release. Gillette, however, does promise that there will be limited edition replicas up for grabs for a few lucky fans through a social giveaway in the coming days, with details to follow.

In the meantime, while Avengers-inspired technology is great for saving the world, the Gillette Fusion ProGlide with Flexball Technology  is Gillette’s most advanced razor with the right amount of technology to shave the world. It’s designed to respond to facial contours and provide maximum contact to get virtually every hair. So for now, it’s the best shaving tool around…unless those Avengers-inspired prototypes become a reality, at which point we may have to reopen this conversation...
