If ever any Batman villain made sense for Gotham to introduce during Bruce’s childhood, it’d be Ra’s al Ghul. So it is, that the FOX prequel drama will follow Arrow in introducing the League of Assassins Shadows’ head, this time played by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Game of Thrones alum Alexander Siddig.

Following its full-scale introduction of The Riddler in April, Gotham Season 3 will unmask Ra’s al Ghul as the man behind the Court of Owls, as played by Siddig. So reads the description:

As Bruce (David Mazouz) pulls the veil off the Court of Owls, he finds the man pulling the strings is the enigmatic and powerful Ra’s al Ghul. With his past shrouded in mystery, Ra’s Al Ghul uses cunning and deception to lay waste to his foes. As the leader of an international criminal organization known as the League of Shadows, Ra’s Al Ghul will prove himself to be Bruce’s most dangerous adversary yet.

Gotham hasn’t yet been renewed for Season 4, though it’s certainly of interest that the Bat-prequel would introduce one of the most important figures typically associated with Batman’s beginning. If indeed the series is to end on Bruce finally suiting up, he’ll eventually need to get some real training in, and likely leave Gotham altogether.

Gotham will return on April 24, the trailer for which you can find below. How might the series use Ra’s thereafter?
