‘Gotham’ Reveals Slightly Less-Creepy Look at New Poison Ivy
FOX’s Gotham has been … less than clear with its intent regarding Season 3's transformation from Clare Foley’s young Ivy Pepper to Maggie Geha’s full Poison Ivy, but a new photo at least sells the transition. Gone are the low-cut dresses, as a new Season 3 shot of Ivy Pepper brings back the familiar outfit.
TVInsider released a more in-context look at Maggie Geha’s grown-up version of Ivy Pepper, this time sporting the green Freddy Krueger sweater typically associated with the character, rather than the low-cut dress of promo shots. As reiterated from his previous statements, producer John Stephens also confirmed that an Indian Hill escapee would use his powers to drain years from Ivy’s life, aging her in the process.
Mind you, both Geha and Stephens previously downplayed any suggestion the still-mentally-14 character would utilize her comic sexuality, likening it more to an awareness of how people react to her, and her subsequent manipulation. Despite the photo, it doesn’t appear as if Ivy will gain her trademark abilities with plants just yet either.
Elsewhere, Season 3 will also introduce us to Benedict Samuel’s Mad Hatter, the Tweedle brothers, the Court of Owls, Jamie Chung’s Valerie Vale, a returning Fish Mooney and other monsters, along with a more true-to-comics Solomon Grundy than Arrow offered. Lest we forget, a certain laughing madman made a distinctly audible return in the Season 2 finale, and will likely resurface as well.
We’ll learn more of Gotham Season 3 in the coming weeks, but what do we make of the latest look? Check out the first trailers below.
