The Flash’s warm “Welcome to Earth-2” gave us a first tease of the upcoming Supergirl crossover, seemingly confirming CBS’ Kara belongs to another universe, but let’s get those crazy kids together already! Grant Gustin to the rescue, releasing the first photo of Barry and Kara hanging out for CBS’ upcoming Supergirl crossover.

Gustin shared the first photo of he and Melissa Benoist on set together from his Instagram account, shooting Supergirl’s eighteenth episode “Worlds Finest.” The missing apostrophe had at first implied the two heroes belong to different worlds, while last night’s Flash trip through the multiverse also seemingly established Supergirl as belonging to an adjacent universe.

Those two emblems look pretty good together… @melissabenoist

Producers are still keeping details of the crossover under wraps for now, but Barry is seen to be wearing the same white-logo Flash costume as in Season 2, lest we think Kara might encounter the Barry of her Earth, or perhaps some other version. Not only that, but HitFix points out that while “Worlds Finest” airs on March 28, the prior week’s “Flash Back” episode will see Barry again traveling through time, which could well end with him somehow breaching Kara’s National City.

In the meantime, stay tuned for the latest on The Flash and Supergirl crossover, and get to speculatin’ with those theories!
