Greatest Best Favorite Avenger Ever: Round Two, Group I
Marvel’s premiere super-team The Avengers have had more than a hundred members since they first assembled in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby‘s Avengers #1 in 1963. The initial roster of Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man and Wasp has expanded over the decades to include multiple mutants, monsters, gods, aliens, super soldiers, and robots — and the occasional extra Ant-Man, or Iron Man, or Hulk.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is just over a week away, so we've moved into the second round of our poll to determine the greatest, best, favorite Avenger of all time. We've taken the top contenders from the previous rounds and broken them up into new voting groups. Your votes will not only help us arrive at a winner, but also give us some clues how the rest of the team stack up against each other. That means you can still vote tactically if you think, say, Monica Rambeau deserves more love than Stephen Strange --- and you can come back and vote again every hour.
The round two groups were assigned blind, except that we broke up the top seeds to keep it interesting. This has thrown up some interesting connections, including divorced couple Hank and Janet getting a visit from Daredevil; two of Marvel's very few Asian superheroes, Amadeus Cho and Shang-Chi, in a tussle with Black Widow; and a rematch for Iron Man and She-Hulk, who have faced each other in more than one context in the past. But we're not asking who'd win in a fight. Pick your favorites, and help us determine the greatest Avenger of all time!
