Though we already knew Hasbro would be offering an early variant box set of its massive Devastator box set at San Diego Comic-Con this year, the company still had one more Transformers exclusive up its sleeve. Announced this week (via IGN), a special box set of the Transformer Universe's most bad-ass female robots in disguise will be up for sale at SDCC as well. The set will feature Arcee, Chromia and Windblade in all new paint apps based on their appearances in the upcoming Combiner Hunters book in IDW's Transformers line.

Though all three of these characters have been released in the flagship Generations line at Hasbro, this new set offers another chance for collectors to expand the ever-growing roster of robots from Cybertron and beyond. It's also another great way for Hasbro to continue diversifying the Transformers line, which has always been traditionally male robot heavy.

The new colorways are drastically different from the original Generations figures for each of the characters. Arcee's eschewed her more familiar pink and white scheme for a more aggressive black design with hot pink accents. Chromia, previously in a pale blue with white accents look, is rocking a heather gray with metallic blue throughout. Windblade looks the least different, but she's still got a new twist on her black and red color scheme. The paint is slightly inverted from her original figure form, with a heavier focus on the deep red hue, and she's added more gold accents, which makes her overall aesthetic pop that much more.

Each of the box sets will also come with a variant cover copy of IDW's Transfomers: Combiner Hunters #1, by Mairghread Scott and Sara Pitre-Durocher, while three other variant comics featuring Arcee, Chromia and Windblade will also be available at the IDW booth at SDCC. All of the variant issues will feature covers by Pitre-Durocher, who has previously provided a number of Combiner Wars variants covers for IDW.

The Transformers: Combiner Hunters Box Set will be available at Hasbro's booth at SDCC for $74.99. A small number will also be made available after the show on Hasbro Toy Shop.
