Hey Now, You’re a Star-Lord, Get Mjolnir, Go Play With Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Roleplay Gear

Last year, Hasbro introduced a new level of collectible roleplay gear into the Marvel Legends brand. Since Captain America: Civil War was the Marvel Studios movie of the moment, the line kicked off with a replica Captain America shield and an electronic Iron Man helmet for (most) adult heads. These premium items were more than a few steps above what Hasbro had traditionally released for kids, and in 2017, even more gear is on the way.

Coming this summer will be an electronic Star-Lord helmet and an electronic Mjolnir just like Thor wields. Ahead of Toy Fair 2017, Hasbro offered up a peek at the new items we'll be jockeying to try on at this weekend's big toy event.

As nifty as the replica shield and that Iron Man helmet are, this year's offerings speak to me just a tiny bit more. Cap's shield was full-size, so it was hard to display when not in use. Iron Man's helmet made for a better display, but I don't quite have the same affection for Tony Stark that I do for the cinematic Peter Quill. Plus, Iron Man's helmet didn't have Bluetooth speakers built-in.

Yeah, that's right. While you won't have a cool Sony Walkman from the '80s to keep your funk flowing, you can certainly sync up the Star-Lord helmet with your mobile device to crank out the jams. It also has light-up features and makes some other noises, but it's still up to you to bring that goofy swagger.

The cinematic version of Mjolnir also comes with lights and sounds, and a nice little display stand to keep it looking cool when on your shelf. Fortunately, the only worthiness you have to prove to be able to lift one of your own is to pony up $100. The design work is excellent though, so you may not want to be whipping this thing around very much like the Nordic god does. Any storms that you bring about are purely coincidental... probably.

The Marvel Legends Star-Lord helmet and Mjolnir will both retail for $99.99 each, and are going to be available for pre-order on Amazon starting Saturday, Feb. 18 at 12PM EST.
