'Glorkian Warrior: The Trials Of Glork' Coming Soon To iOS

Nearly four years after a Kickstarter campaign netted $11,200 for its development, Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork from developer Pixeljam and cartoonist James Kochalka is about to hit your iOS device very soon.

The game is due out during the first quarter of this year (and that's already a third over). It mashes up Space Invaders and Galaga-style shooting with platforming for a major retro gaming experience. Check out a trailer after the jump.

Here's how Pixeljam describes the gameplay:

Help the Glorkian Warrior save the day, in our red-hot, white-knuckle, battle simulator. While out on Glork Patrol, the Glorkian Warrior stumbles into an invasion of strange insectoid aliens. As wave after wave of the voracious beasts swarm our intrepid hero he powers up his Super Backpack with amazing weapons upgrades like twisty lasers, fireballs and even flarf. Meanwhile, two crazy alien girls in battle suits won't stop taunting him and giving him nonsensical quests and achievements to unlock!

Not only that, Kochalka has a tie-in comic on the way. The Glorkian Warrior Delivers a Pizza, which is aimed toward elementary-school-age readers, comes out March 25 from First Second.
