Build a Better Kwik-E-Mart With Lego’s New The Simpsons Set

If you've always wanted to live in Springfield, but just couldn't find the birthplace of the Simpsons on any dang map in the known 'verse, Lego might just have a solution for you. Already invested in delivering miniaturized versions of the iconic characters and the residence that the Simpsons call home, Lego will soon expand the line to include everyone's favorite convenience store, Kwik-E-Mart.

Due out in May, the Lego The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart will bring the famous workplace of Apu Nahasapeemapetilon to life in grand fashion. Consisting of 2,179 pieces, the Kwik-E-Mart will include all the essentials, such as Krusty-O's, Chef Lonelyheart's Soup for One, Buzz Cola, Powersauce, Lard Lad Donuts, and of course, Squishee drinks straight from the machine. Additionally, more everyday items like milk, hot dogs and coffee can be found as well --- but let's face it, we're all just here to see the frozen Jasper in the freezer.

The set comes with a removable roof (where Apu's secret garden can be found), and other memorable highlights like "El Barto" graffiti, arcade games, and frequent Kwik-E-Mart thief, Snake. He's joined by Apu (with broom), Homer, Marge (with cart), Bart (with spray can) and Chief Wiggum (complete with cop car, cuffs and truncheon), which is a nice collection of some of Springfield's more famous and infamous characters. A Sideshow Bob as Krusty would have been killer, but one can always dream.

The Kwik-E-Mart set won't be the only new Simpsons Lego coming though, as the company is also bringing out a new line of minifigures. This new series of $3.99 blind bag figures will include characters like Professor Frink, Groundskeeper Willy, Bartman, Dr. Hibbert, Comic Book Guy, and more. All told, some 16 new figures will be released alongside the Kwik-E-Mart, which means you'll be able to get a pretty decent crowd in the store if you collect them all this May.
