Official (Awesome) Images And Video Of LEGO’s ‘The Simpsons’ House Set Surface [Video]
Listen, we know you probably already saw the low-res images (complete with sweet glaring flash!) of LEGO's upcoming The Simpsons House set that surfaced over the weekend. They were everywhere. We don't blame you for looking. We did. But you know what? You deserve better. Hit the jump to see the official, hi-res images, along with an HD video of the set in action.
The 2,523-piece set is due out in February for $199.99 in the US and basically has all a Simpsons fan could reasonably ask for - although there's lots more sets where this came from, too. It's a big ol' blocky Simpsons doll-house with a detachable roof, a hinged opening, the dented pink family car, their trademark family couch, and minifigures of the whole family plus neighbor Ned Flanders. When assembled, the thing's 9" tall, 16” wide and 9” deep. So yeah, it's everything you wanted from the Playmates action figure line 10 years back but didn't get due to, well, essentially infeasible manufacturing costs.
One detail that's especially dear to our hearts is Bart's Radioactive Man comic book accessory, which I believe may be the first-ever "LEGO comic book." The Simpsons comic book publisher, Bongo, is probably bursting with pride over this. [Update: We have officially confirmed that Bongo is indeed bursting with pride]
