A new Lobster Johnson one-shot is always a cause for celebration, and the pulp hero always gives Mike Mignola and his collaborators the opportunity to expand the history of the Hellboy universe while telling rollicking adventure stories in the great American tradition.

Written by Mignola and John Arcudi, with art by Stephen Green and colors by Dave StewartLobster Johnson: Garden of Bones sees the hero investigating a possible zombie uprising, and we have an exclusive preview from the one-shot.

If you haven't checked out any previous Lobster Johnson stories before, they're incredibly accessibly and a must-read if you like the pulp sensibilities that have inspired comics icons from Batman to The Spirit. In Mignola's fictional shared universe, the Lobster was a vigilante in '30s America who has become almost  a mythic figure in Hellboy's present day. In a series of one-shots and miniseries, Mignola, Arcudi and company have familiarized readers with Lobster Johnson's adventures, which are often as weird and wonderful as Hellboy's own.

In the new one-shot ---- on sale tomorrow --- a string of police murders leads Lobster Johnson to investigate whether deceased crime lord Big Benny Jeunot is a zombie back from the dead to enact his vengeance on the law, or if something even more mysterious is afoot.
