Uncertain though we are over Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. giving away two of its best and brightest to their Most Wanted spinoff, the continuing adventures of Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse and Nick Hunter raise additional questions with their premise. Now, the first synopsis clarifies a bit of the Most Wanted extension, potentially teasing their Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. exit as well.

Deadline copped the first official synopsis for the series, which for the moment has a pilot order, and may move forward as early as this spring. In the meantime, it appears as if Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood’s characters don’t leave S.H.I.E.L.D. quietly:

[Marvel's Most Wanted] centers on Bobbi Morse (a.k.a. Mockingbird) and Lance Hunter of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., two ex-spies and ex-spouses who are on the run with no friends, no S.H.I.E.L.D. and a long list of enemies looking to claim a bounty on their heads. Able to trust no one but each other, Bobbi and Hunter form an uneasy alliance with Dominic Fortune, a rogue adventurer with a wealth of resources and even more adversaries, who agrees to protect them so long as they help him with his own agenda. These two heroes will help anyone in need, all while trying to uncover the conspiracy that put their own lives in jeopardy.

Quietly greenlit back in August, the series got official confirmation from ABC boss Paul Lee, saying “We are making it in the next few months. It’s a really good script.” News of the spinoff first emerged in April of 2015, before ABC seemingly shelved the project, until its August resurface.

Initial reports also cryptically claimed that Marvel’s Most Wanted “is not a spinoff, per se, but rather an entirely new project solely focused on the two characters to continue their story.” Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. EP Jeffrey Bell and series writer Paul Zbyszewski will spearhead the project, both serving as showrunners and executive producers.

We’ll hear more as Marvel’s Most Wanted gears up for production, especially after Delroy Lindo joined the cast, but what do we make of the first synopsis?
