Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. won’t be back with its “What If” pod until sometime in April, but that isn’t stopping the team from imagining the past four seasons with a Hydra twist. See for yourself, with some clever posters showing how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. HYDRA might have unfurled in another reality.

You’re warned of current spoilers through the fourth (hopefully not final) Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season, but we’re anxious to explore the “What If” Framework reality that sees our core S.H.I.E.L.D. cast in a virtual world where Hydra successfully mounted its takeover. The initial poster for Season 4's April return more or less just copied the Ghost Rider artwork, but the team took things a step further with Agents of HYDRA posters for the past four seasons:

Of course, the posters don’t really make a lick of sense, as – whether or not Hydra’s takeover occurred during the Winter Soldier events late in Season 1 (thereby after the first poster) – Coulson, Mack and Simmons have all been shown with lives (or deaths) outside of Hydra or S.H.I.E.L.D. There’s also Brett Dalton’s omission from the Season 4 poster, despite confirmation that Grant Ward is alive and well, Hydra-ed up with Daisy (or Skye?) in the new reality.

Either way, we can all look forward to some alternate reality goodness when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 returns on April 4, so in the meantime, check out the teaser below.
