‘Luke Cage’ Gets a Sweet New Gig in Official Netflix Photo

It’s looking more and more likely that Marvel’s Netflix Luke Cage will earn the hero-for-hire some serious spotlight at Comic-Con 2016, ahead of his September solo debut. Following a stylish new poster, Marvel has now released one of the first official photos from Luke Cage, pointing to a new (albeit familiar) gig for Mike Colter’s strongman.

USA Today debuted the newest official photo for Marvel’s Luke Cage (following the Daredevil Season 2 teaser photo above), in which our third Defender is again behind the bar. As Jessica Jones fans will recall, Colter’s Cage left Hell’s Kitchen behind at the end of the season, apparently picking up a more upscale gig on the road to Harlem.

From the looks of things, his attention from the ladies remains intact.

Thus far of Netflix’s Luke Cage, we know that Sons of Anarchy vet Theo Rossi will play “Shades” Alvarez, alongside Mahershala Ali’s Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Alfre Woodard’s Mariah Dillard, Erik LaRay Harvey’s Diamondback, Frank Whaley’s Detective Rafael Scarfe and Simone Missick’s Misty Knight. Additionally, Rosario Dawson is confirmed to her reprise her role as Claire Temple for a more significant arc.

Star Mike Colter has also previously spoken to the musicality and flashbacks of the series, which Cheo Hodari Coker will showrun.

We’ll also likely meet Iron Fist toward the end of the season as well, but stay tuned for more news of Luke Cage’s September 30 premiere, including a possible trailer at Comic-Con 2016!
