Oni Brings ‘Rick And Morty’ To The Universe Of Comics [NYCC]
The Adult Swim animated series Rick And Morty is about as well-suited for a comics adaptation as anything on TV. It's got a psychopathic mad scientist, inter-dimensional adventures, and lots of teenage growing pains.
That's likely why the Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon-created series will be coming to Oni Press next year in a new comic written by Costume Quest: Invasion of the Candy Snatchers scribe Zac Gorman.
Oni has yet to announce who the artist on the series will be or just how the comic's stories will tie into the TV show (if they do), but editor in chief James Lucas Jones did have this to say about the partnership:
We’re all huge fans of the show, so we couldn’t be more excited to bring it to comics. The world Dan, Justin, and their whole crew have built is so wildly imaginative and fun, we’re sure it’ll translate flawlessly. On top of that, the stuff Zac is doing fits so perfectly and is so funny that we’re certain the comics will make a perfect companion to the show. We really can’t wait for folks to see what he’s cooked up.
So get ready to be whisked away on adventures, whether you want to be or not.
