Do you ever wonder what Saved By The Bell would be like if it had never ended? I do. I think about it all the time. The thought consumes me, and my dreams are filled with unending visions of Zack Morris stopping time and the uncaring face of Rod Belding, the "cool brother" of Bayside High's stodgy principal. But they've only been dreams... until now!

Next week, SBTB is returning in the pages of an all-new full-length graphic novel from Lion Forge and IDW, by writer Joelle Sellner and artists Chynna Clugston Flores and Tim Fish, and, interestingly enough, it's set not in the mid '90s of tank tops and caffeine pills, but in the modern day of singing competitions and viral videos. Check out a preview below, featuring Kevin, the sentient robot that Screech built that completely failed to impress his friends.

I gotta say, even if I wasn't already a fan of Chynna Clugston Flores from her work on Blue Monday, I would be super excited about this comic. I mean, if they're going all the way to Kevin the friggin' Robot in the very first story, then there is no limit to what we might see here. Maybe we'll finally even get April Richardson's long-awaited explanation of just what the heck The Max's business plan is!

Kicking things off at the perfect starting point for newbies, the series is a modern reboot set during the Bayside gang’s freshman year, where they’ve traded in their brick cell phones for Twitter accounts and iPhones. But these inseparable friends still have the same chemistry and camaraderie we remember from the old days. Written by television vet Joelle Sellner (Teen Titans, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes) with expressive artwork by multiple Eisner Award-nominated Chynna Clugston Flores (Blue Monday, Queen Bee) and Tim Fish (The Graphic Canon, Uncanny X-Men: Nation X), Saved By the Bell is a zany yet still grounded coming of age story reminiscent of classic teen humor comics but with a cutting edge.
