Star Wars Muppets Action Figures Coming to Disney Theme Parks This Fall

If you reach out to feel the power of "the Force" at Disney theme park gift shops this fall, you may discover it feels just like felt. Celebrating the newly revitalized Star Tours ride, Disney will offer a righteous action figure 2-packs featuring The Muppets as Star Wars characters this fall. Similar to the gift shop exclusive PVC figures released in 2008, the new articulated toys will imagine Beaker as C-3PO/Dr. Bunsen Honeydew as R2-D2, Link Hogthrob as Han Solo/Fozzy the Bear as Chewbacca, and Sam the Eagle as Obi-Wan Kenobi/Gonzo as Darth Vader with his chicken Camilla serving as a Stormtrooper. Meanwhile, Kermit will now be justifiably repulsed by (his sister?) Miss Piggy as they don respective Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia roles.The Muppets are no stranger to Star Wars mashups. The cast of the SW films hosted an entire episode of The Muppet Show back in 1980 and The Muppet Babies included a parody episode, "From a Galaxy Far, Far Away" in 1984 (with additional segments in later episodes as well).

Each pack will go for about $19, and according to the Disney Parks Blog fans can check out the toy prototypes at Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios in "Jabba's Hut, the specially-designed merchandise location near Disney's Rock 'N' Roller Coaster."
