General Alien enthusiasts and action figure trivia fans unite! Kenner's abandoned 1979 Alien action figure line is being revived by Super7, giving generations of fans their first proper crack at picking up vintage-style versions of Ripley (with flame thrower), Ash (with motion detector), Dallas (with flame thrower), Kane (in Nostromo spacesuit) and a surprisingly horrifying 3.75" "Big Chap" style "The Alien" xenomorph (with removable transparent dome, extendable jaws and glow-in-the-dark head) for $19.99 a piece starting in August/September.

On top of sporting the same sculpts as Kenner's original '79 prototypes, the toys will feature "period-authentic blister card packaging" for maximum fauxstalgia.

Originally intended to appeal to fans of Kenner's similarly styled Star Wars toys, the 3.75" Alien series is believed to have been scrapped after the company's 18" Alien Warrior figure performed poorly at retail (which may or may not have had to do with it awesomely scaring the hopes and dreams out of everyone who saw it).

Preorders for the figures began at San Diego Comic Con International in July, but you can now preorder through Amazon and other online toy stores.
