Although I'm not always wild about the "Superman/Batman" animated films, I have to admit that the idea of "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse" is growing on me. For starters, Lauren Montgomery is directing - the same Lauren Montgomery responsible for "Wonder Woman," my personal favorite entry in the DC Universe Animated line. It doesn't hurt that Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly are reprising their roles as Bruce Wayne and Superman, either. So far, off to a good start.

But what really pushed me over the fence is this 12-minute behind-the-scenes featurette on "Apocalypse" that DC Entertainment released the other day. It's always a pleasure hearing Bruce Timm and Andrea Romano talk about story, animation and their continued work, and you get plenty of that in this video. What you shouldn't expect, however, is any actual footage from "Apocalypse," as the video simply treats us to storyboard animations and pages from the Jeph Loeb and Michael Turner comic book run that the movie is based on.Still, it's an informative, behind-the-scenes look at the process of developing the latest "Superman/Batman" film. If you're even remotely interested in seeing how the sausage gets made, and if you've got 12 minutes to spare, give the video a look before it arrives in stores on September 28.
