'Sherlock' Manga Comes to the US, Courtesy of Titan Comics
You know what manga fans love, in my anecdotal experience? Homoeroticism. You know who else loves homoeroticism? Sherlock fans. So it was only a matter of time until someone realized that the key to cashing in on all those fans at once could only be a Sherlock manga. Today at the the ComicsPro retailers summit in Portland, Oregon, Titan Comics announced that it will publish an English-language translation of a manga adaptation of the Sherlock story A Study In Pink in June. This will mark the first time time the Japanese series has been made available in English and officially sold in the United States and United Kingdom.
Titan Brings Back McGann's 'Doctor Who' for 'The Eighth Doctor'
Along with their Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctor titles, Titan has a fourth 'rotating' slot in their Doctor Who license which brings a new Doctor to the fore every few months. At San Diego Comic-Con the publisher announced that, following the conclusion of the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) series later this year, George Mann and Emma Vieceli will be the creative team for The Eight Doctor.
Titan Brings James Spader's 'The Blacklist' to the Page
2015 is truly the year James Spader took over all media. Not only is the laconic actor portraying the title villain in Avengers: Age of Ultron, he's also making the jump from the screen to the page in Titan Comics' new comics series based on his TV show The Blacklist. The new series, by writer Nicole Phillips and artist Beni Lobel, will start up in July. Alice X. Zhang provides the covers.

We make a regular practice at ComicsAlliance of spotlighting particular artists or specific bodies of work, as well as the special qualities of comic book storytelling, but because cartoonists, illustrators and their fans share countless numbers of great pinups, fan art and other illustrations on sites like Flickr, Tumblr, DeviantArt and seemingly infinite art blogs that we’ve created Best Art Ever (This Week), a weekly depository for just some of the pieces of especially compelling artwork that we come across in our regular travels across the Web. Some of it’s new, some of it’s old, some of it’s created by working professionals, some of it’s created by future stars, some of it’s created by talented fans, and some of it’s endearingly silly. All of it is awesome.
