Injustice 2

The third story trailer for Injustice 2 has arrived, and instead of giving a broad glance at what's going on in the alternate future of the DCU, this video hones in specifically on Supergirl. She's been front and center for a lot of the promotion around Injustice 2, and based on what we know about the game, it makes perfect sense. This new story trailer just drives home how important having Supergirl arrive after Superman's imprisonment really is for the world of Injustice.

Teased in some earlier gameplay footage, Cheetah has finally gotten an Injustice 2 trailer all her own. The vicious attacks of the melee fighter look absolutely brutal, and her speed and agility will no doubt make her a bonafide threat. It's a shame she and Wonder Woman couldn't stay friends after all these years.

Foregoing the deluge of single-character reveal trailers, this week NetherRealm Studios decided to give the popular WWE gaming channel the hot tip on the latest roster addition. After getting a bit of a tour of the studio behind the Mortal Kombat series, speaking with Ed Boon, and just clowning around like good wrestle-buddies do, Xavier, Kofi, Bayley, and Sasha get to spend a little time with Firestorm in Injustice 2.

Aside from giving the players the power to step into the shoes of their favorite heroes and beat the snot out of each other, Injustice 2 also has an actual ongoing narrative at its core. That's not an uncommon thing in fighting games, but it is rare for stories to be more than flimsy excuses for characters to match up against one another. With its newest trailer, we get a bit of a better look at what's going on in the fighting game sequel, who stands with who, and which characters from Injustice are returning.

Just about every character fans could have wanted appears to be coming to Injustice 2. The latest trailer introduces Doctor Fate to the mix, giving the fighting game sequel its first master of the mystic arts. While Zatanna and Raven held that honor in the original game, neither has been seen yet in this sequel. Doctor Fate brings his signature golden boy style to Injustice 2's alternate future, and some very interesting trap magic combat.

We're getting closer and closer to the release of Injustice 2, and NetherRealm Studios is sharing more and more of what to expect from the upcoming fighting game sequel. While we've been limited to a few character teasers these past few weeks, new story details have emerged thanks to the "Shattered Alliances" trailer shown off this week. Of course, the trailer does more than give us a hint of what Superman's been up to in the years since his imprisonment, it also hints at new characters and stages we might see this May.

February has been a good month for Injustice 2 character reveals and gameplay videos. After going virtually radio silent since August, NetherRealm Studios has bestowed video after video, reveal after reveal upon us this month. Given that there's currently a beta going (which we'd love to get into, NetherRealm), it only makes sense the developer would share more information as players got more and more hands-on time with the fighting game sequel. After announcing Black Canary, Damian Wayne as Robin and Swamp Thing already, a brief spotlight video highlights three more femme fatales from the DC Universe making their appearances in Injustice 2. Catwoman is returning, but she'll be joined by newcomers Poison Ivy and Cheetah to keep the rest of the heroes in check.

As we draw closer to the arrival of NetherRealm Studios' Injustice 2, the developer continues teasing us with roster reveals for the upcoming fighting game set in an alternate DC Universe. While to this point we've mostly seen some of the more traditional heroes and villains from the comics make their way into the game, today's announcement came out of left field. The Guardian of Earth himself, the Swamp Thing, will be joining the fight between Batman and Superman (and Brainiac) this May. Thanks to a new gameplay trailer, we now know how Swamp Thing will attempt to bring green peace to the world of Injustice.

New details and characters for Injustice 2 are flowing like water now that 2017 is picking up steam. After being silent on the game's roster since August of last year, NetherRealm Studios has divulged two new characters for the upcoming fighting sequel in nearly as many weeks. That can only mean even more character announcements are on the way, but I'm getting ahead of myself. First, we've got to talk about Black Canary bringing the noise in the latest gameplay trailer.

If you've been paying attention to Damian Wayne for even just a little while, you already know he's one Robin you don't want to cross. Batman's son is just that much of a bad little dude. Depending on which alternate timeline you believe happens, he also grows up to be Batman, or in the case of Injustice, he sticks around as Robin after maybe not-so-accidentally killing Nightwing. Five years after the events of the first game, Damian is back, and judging by this new trailer for Injustice 2, he's still just as angry with his father as ever.
