Peter Parker is having a literal homecoming on the set of the new Spider-Man movie. Earlier this week, Tom Holland and the ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ crew moved production from the Atlanta set to the streets of New York City.

You might remember a call sheet that surfaced from the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming a couple of weeks ago, seemingly revealing a handful of previously unannounced characters. But without official confirmation, those names (mostly) offered intriguing possibilities, particularly with regards to a certain character played by Fargo star Bokeem Woodbine. Warning: Potential spoilers ahead.

The fact that Stan Lee is guaranteed to appear in nearly every single Marvel movie is one of those small little charms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that I hope never goes away. Sure, some people probably view it as an annoying break in the fourth wall, but it also reminds audiences that we are watching a superhero comic book movie. These movies don’t need to choose between being cartoonish and deadly serious; they can be both, often at the same time, and Stan Lee always helps drive that point home.

As in, Tom Holland is hanging out (lurking?) in an alleyway, doing his best Daredevil impression, righteously looking down on injustice from atop a structure piled with boxes and making all of us feel very small in comparison. It’s like, a metaphor or something. Also it’s just a cool photo with a nice shout-out to Holland’s stunt team.

Just when we thought there wouldn’t be anymore Spider-Man: Homecoming casting news, here comes a bit of an unexpected — but pleasant — surprise: Jon Favreau will reprise his Iron Man role in Sony and Marvel’s upcoming reboot, joining MCU star Robert Downey Jr. for Tom Holland’s first solo outing as the iconic web-slinging hero. It’s news that should make several fans, uh, happy?

After months of updates, it looks like the cast list for Spider-Man: Homecoming is finally complete. Sony and Marvel have assembled a great lineup for their upcoming reboot, which includes a few funny, familiar faces — like comedian and Broad City star Hannibal Buress, who was recently rumored to be playing Peter Parker’s gym teacher. That seems to be the case, as Buress himself has hilariously confirmed his role in the new Spidey film.

He might not be able to shoot actual webbing from his hands, but that doesn’t mean Tom Holland will be leaving all the stunts in Spider-Man: Homecoming up to the wizardry of CGI.

Late last week a pretty substantial rumor surfaced suggesting that Zendaya’s secret role in Spider-Man: Homecoming is actually Mary Jane Watson. While neither Marvel nor Sony have confirmed or even responded to those rumors, it elicited an unfortunately predictable reaction from several fans who were unhappy that a woman of color would be playing a character traditionally depicted as a white redhead.
