Take a Tour of Gotham City in ‘DC Universe Online’ [Video]

Last month we brought you a very cool look at Superman's home of Metropolis as it appears in DC Universe Online, the hotly anticipated massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on the popular superheroes of DC Comics. Specifically, we took a lovely tour of the Metropolis Police Department, and it was indeed lovely. But sh*t just got real today, when Sony Online Entertainment released a video spotlighting the many environments players will find in Gotham City.

Make no mistake, this is not the "Gotham City" of R. Kelly's hit song of the same name. This is not Gotham City: City of Love. This is not Gotham City: City of Peace or a City of Justice. This is Gotham City, where everyone lives in ceaseless danger of being mugged, poisoned or pecked to death by cybernetic penguins, where there is a whole mile of abandoned amusement parks from which psychopaths like the Joker can launch schemes to wipe you out in the most grotesque ways imaginable. That's right, in this video we've got Amusement Mile, Arkham Asylum, Ace Chemicals, Crime Alley, the Gotham freight yards, the Gotham Knights sports dome, the Cape Carmine lighthouse, the Gotham City Police Department (with Bat signal!) and, of course, the Batcave.
