This New Dan Dare Action Figure Is Worth A Salute Or Seven

Time for a little bit of good news and bad news. The good news is that there is an awesome new Dan Dare action figure on the way. The bad news is that I do not have this action figure in my hands right now.

Bleeding Cool has an early look at a prototype for the new Dan Dare figure, which is being manufactured by Day2Day Trading, the same folks that created those fantastic Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon retro toys.

I'm not hugely familiar with Dan Dare's publication history or anything, but that isn't stopping me from loving the bajeezus out of the figure's design. The head sculpt, the pistol that looks like a futuristic miniaturized garden hose... I love it all. This is one of those toys that I would have carried with me everywhere I went when I was a wee lad.

It's also probably one of those toys that I would have buried in the sand at the beach, only to disappear from my grasp forever. Good thing I'm a nerdy blogger that doesn't go to beaches anymore. My action figures are much safer indoors.
