This Spring’s ‘Atomic Robo’ Fosters Action Figure Longings
Red 5 Comics' solicitation info for March popped up over the weekend, and as much as I like the upcoming cover for Brian Clevinger and Scott Wegener's "Atomic Robo and the Revenge of the Vampire Dimension" #2, the cover is a painful tease for fans craving an action figure fix.

Culled from a storyline (that may or may not include a giant monster attack) from Robo's visit to Japan in 1999, the cover includes three separate AR action figures. There's "classic" Robo, a G.I. Joe-like Robo and a very mecha Robo stepping out atop its fine packaging.
While indie artists like threeA Toys have forged many rad robots, somebody needs to give AR fans an official plastic representation of their favorite hero (and his supporting cast) after this cover hits the stands. I know the economics of the affair are no simple matter, but awesome art like this is enough to inspire a DJ Tanner-style fit.
"This is so unfair!"
See what I mean? (at the 3:36 mark)
