Thor doesn’t go anywhere without his famous hammer Mjolnir. But did you know the Mjolnir seen in Thor: The Dark World is different than the ones in Thor and The Avengers? It’s 10 percent larger than the first Mjolnir, and it’s design incorporates elements from Thor’s new costume in The Dark World. That’s just one of the Asgardian facts featured in the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies!

Alan Taylor was picked to direct the Thor sequel on the strength of his work directing episodes of Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire. Marvel President Kevin Feige said his goal in the film was to delve deeper into the Nine Realms, and to see Asgard at a “street-level.” Taylor was not very familiar with Thor before accepting the job. When he got the assignment on The Dark World, Marvel presented him with three massive volumes of Thor comics. Taylor’s reaction? “Oh God, that’s a lot of homework.”
