Despite rumors that Marvel is doing its best to bury the X-Men franchise, the publisher is still putting out mutant books, including the recently announced new X-Men title. X-Men: Worst X-Man Ever, a five-issue mini-series (let the rumors continue!), written by Max Bemis, with very appealing art from Michael Walsh. Check out an unlettered preview below!

What's really excited for X-fans is that X-Men: Worst X-Man Ever actually looks like a fun time. There's no sign of deadly Terrigen Mists, hidden X-Havens, or Old Man Logan. Instead, this is the story of a young boy named Bailey, a student at Xavier's School who fears he might not have what it takes. Judging by the mix of costumes on Walsh's stylish cover, it's impossible to pin this story down to a specific time in the X-Men's history. But it's clearly a time when the X-Men were all on one team and ran a school for mutant kids, and that's a time I'm happy to revisit.
