Marvel’s ‘Avengers Assemble’ and ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’ Get New Names and Seasons
Marvel and Disney have an understandable habit of tailoring the animated series to match the films (just look at Guardians of the Galaxy), and both Avengers Assemble and Ultimate:Spider-Man are in line for makeovers. Not only will they each get new seasons, but they’ll do so as Marvel’s Avengers: Ultron Revolution and Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister 6.
Per Marvel’s official announcement, Ultron Revolution (Season 3) will see the marquee Avengers going up against the likes of Baron Zemo, the Masters of Evil, the Inhumans, and Kang the Conqueror. New help will come from Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, and Ms. Marvel, undoubtedly reflecting the upcoming film slate, while the press release alludes to the team having “a chance of surviving an all-out Marvel super hero Civil War.” Sound familiar?
As to Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister 6 (canceled for its own universe but coming soon to an MCU near you!) the nefarious team joins forces with Doctor Octopus and Hydra, with our core hero enlisting the help of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Venom, the Iron Spider, the Miles Morales Spider-Man, and even the Scarlet Spider.
Like the revamped Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel’s Avengers: Ultron Revolution and Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister 6 will premiere formally on Disney XD in 2016. How next will the animated universe pivot to reflect the movies?
