There's been a lot of anticipation about the return of former "Detective Comics" artist Neal Adams to the world of the Caped Crusader since the Wondercon announcement that he would be writing and illustrating a six-issue miniseries titled "Batman: Odyssey." Adams has described the book as his opportunity to put his own spin on the character of Batman, and DC has released four pages of art from the first issue that hits stands tomorrow. Highlights include:

-Batman wielding a gun

-Batman shooting a gun

-Batman getting shot through the wrist while shooting a gun

-Batman quoting his own thoughts in narrative panels and then thinking them in thought bubbles

-Batman berating himself for being "stupid" and "acting the buffoon"

-Batman referring to thousand dollar quantities of money as "G's"

It's definitely different from the Batman we're used to seeing! Check out the rest after the jump.
