With "Blackest Night" #1 now on racks, it may be worth taking another look at my Care Bears vs. Lanterns deathmatch, where the emotion-oriented bears face off against their "Blackest Night" counterpart.

Relatedly, Jude Buffum has created several images where 80s characters face off against each other Mortal Kombat style, including "Care Bear Combat," where Tenderheart Bear rips Teddy Ruxpin's heart out underneath a rainbow.
