New ‘Defenders’ Photos Reveal Sigourney Weaver’s Villain and More

Despite all we know of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and their respective casts, The Defenders has kept deadly silent on Sigourney Weaver’s mysterious villain. No longer, as new photos reveal not only said villain’s nom de guerre, but also some Luke Cage crossover, and more.

Entertainment Weekly released an additional batch of Defenders photos after the cover, one of which provides our first look at Weaver’s mysterious “Alexandra.” Showrunners claim (for now) the character has no existing Marvel affiliation, but offered of Alexandra that “Her character is a very powerful force in New York City. She’s everything Sigourney is: sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous.”

In addition to confirming a summer 2017 premiere, additional photos from the set include Misty Knight (keeping the hair!) with Jessica Jones, Luke back in prison, Colleen Wing and Danny Rand (having trimmed a few of those luscious curls), and a few stylish EW portraits:

Elsewhere of Marvel’s Netflix Defenders, we know the eight-part event will feature among the returning cast Elodie Yung, Jessica Henwick, Scott Glenn, Rosario Dawson, Rachael Taylor, Simone Missick, Deborah Ann Woll, Carrie-Anne Moss, Elden Henson and Eka Darville. The team-up series will be helmed by Daredevil showrunners Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez, and helmed in part by Jessica Jones director S.J. Clarkson.
