‘DuckTales: Scrooge’s Loot’ Video Game Arrives On iOS And Android [Video]
It looks like Capcom's recently released DuckTales Remastered isn't the only game in town when it comes to adventuring with Uncle Scrooge and Launchpad. Disney has rolled out an all-new and all-different kind of game featuring Duckburg's wealthiest resident called DuckTales: Scrooge's Loot on iOS and Android. Unlike the DuckTales games on NES and Game Boy and the new DTR, Scrooge's Loot isn't a sidescrolling adventure title, but rather a 3D multiplayer battle game complete with feathered customizable characters. Considering this is a game starring the miserly McDuck, it's also a bit surprising to find out the mobile title is free.
As is befitting of DuckTales' history in animation and comic books, the name of the game in Scrooge's Loot is treasure-hunting. The Beagle Boys have emptied Scrooge's vault, which for reasons only a video game plot would prompt, leads him to call on the aid of the citizens of Duckburg to recover his moolah for him. No, you won't be playing as any of the usual DuckTales cast but rather a customized character pulled form one of four character classes: Adventurer, Inventor, Chef and Pilot.
Once a player has selected a character, they can begin playing through single or multiplayer missions in one of four arenas, upgrading specially-themed (there looks to be a Gizmoduck-style suit and even a gadget that looks like Darkwing Duck's Quackerjack in the mix) weapons and abilities along the way. If your life is, say, like a hurricane, the game's got freemium content available for purchase to speed your progress up.
