We're holding out high hopes for Z2 Comics, the new small-scale publisher launching this fall with a pleasingly eclectic line-up of books, including Ian McGinty's potentially charming Welcome to Showside (soon to be an animated series), Chris Hunt's noir crime adventure story Carver, and the risque fantasy comedy Allen: Son of Hellcock, co-written by one of the Last Week Tonight writers.

Z2 Comics has given us an exclusive first look at some of the upcoming covers for all three titles, including Missy Pena's gorgeous Showside cover, above. Check out the rest of the covers, along with book descriptions courtesy of Z2, below:

Allen: Son of Hellcock, the comic book debut of writers Will Tracy (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) and Gabe Koplowitz, with artist Miguel Porto, will be released this December from Z2 Comics. Title character Allen is cowardly, directionless, and less physically menacing than a daffodil. He’s also the only son of the mightiest hero ever to plunge his sword hilt-deep into the dark heart of evil… the mighty Hellcock! Enjoy the ride as Allen is thrust sword-first into a not-so-classic fantasy quest that, frankly, he would rather just sit out.
