Finally, A Motion Comic We Can All Get Behind
There are a lot of mixed feelings about the idea of motion comics right now, so allow me to introduce you to a comics/video hybrid that we can all get behind. Dubbed "Videogioco" by creator Donato Sansone, it flips the idea of the "motion comic" upside down with an elaborate map of paper layers that unfold sequentially into cartoons as it moves across the floor. It's hard to describe, so just hit play and see for yourself.
Also, maybe it's the color of their shirts or my own robust powers of projection, but don't the two guys in the opening sequence remind you a little of Kirk and Spock? I prefer to think of this as "Amok Time," but with more decapitation.Obligatory warning: The images contain cartoon violence and something that might be a penis. It's hard to say.
