Marvel’s ‘Iron Fist’ Sets ‘Vikings’ Composer for Season 1
We knew that no other Defenders series would quite match Luke Cage for soundtrack, but Iron Fist at least looks to be in good hands for its March premiere. Emmy-winning Vikings composer Trevor Morris will helm the first season of Marvel’s final Defender, according to reports.
Film Music Reporter confirmed the news of Morris composing for Iron Fist, following a number of tweets suggesting as much. For his part, Morris has also composed for The Tudors, The Pillars of the Earth, The Borgias, Vikings, Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen, along with upcoming series like NBC’s Taken and Emerald City.
Now set for a March 2017 premiere, so reads the Iron Fist synopsis:
Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
Elsewhere, following the addition of Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum and David Wenham as Harold Meachum, past breakdowns also suggested Iron Fist would cast the roles of Shang Chi and “Steel Serpent.” Scott Buck will showrun Iron Fist, while reports suggested Jessica Jones writer Scott Reynolds will also have a hand on the creative side.
Iron Fist will reveal more soon, so stay tuned for the latest as it arrives.
