This week's most exciting news was undoubtedly the announcement of the Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy crossover, coming in June from Chynna Clugston-Flores and Rosemary Valero-O'Connell. The thing is, though, aside from the creative team, any details of the actual plot of the series have been a kept as hidden as the mysteries of a haunted forest and/or suspiciously supervillainous private school. I mean, sure, we can pretty much expect that we're going to see mysteries and friendship, but beyond that? Who knows.

But to tide us over in the meantime, Boom Studios has sent over an exclusive look at the incentive cover for the first issue of the crossover by Gotham Academy artist Karl Kerschl --- and in the process, they have provided us with one major clue. There will be a tree involved.

Okay, so maybe I'm reading a little too much into that, but it's still a beautiful cover. Kerschl was the artist on Gotham Academy for its first 12 issues, and while it's great to see him return to draw Olive, Maps, and Pomeline once again, I think this marks the first time he's taken a shot at any of the campers from Lumberjanes. Unsurprisingly, he offers a fantastic take on the characters.

But for those of us who are hungry for details, we've got another piece of good news: Before the series hits shelves in June, there's going to be a five-page preview in the first issue of Boom Box's new series Goldie Vance, scheduled for release on April 13 --- and considering that it's a teen detective series from the team of Hope Larson and Brittney Williams, odds are pretty good that fans of Gotham Academy and Lumberjanes are going to want to pick that one up anyway.
