Legendary Comics Unveils ‘Godzilla: Awakening’ Prelude Comic Cover By Art Adams

We truly live in a golden age of great artists drawing Godzilla.

James Stokoe's Godzilla: The Half-Century War was an artistic powerhouse at IDW a little over a year ago, and now, Legendary Comics has unveiled a stunning Arthur Adams cover to Godzilla: Awakening, its new comic book prelude to the upcoming Godzilla movie. Check out the cover, along with a ton of info about the 80-page comic, after the jump!

Godzilla: Awakening is written by Godzilla screenwriter Max Borenstein, and Greg Borenstein, and will feature art from Eric Battle, Yvel Guichet, Alan Quah, and Lee Loughridge. A Legendary Comics press release states the story takes place several decades before the movie.

It hits comic shops May 7, a little more than a week before the movie comes to theaters on May 16.
