‘Lil’ Formers’ Comments on Contemporary Marvel Gimmickry

Even though Matt Moylan's "Lil' Formers" began as a straightforward Transformers fan Webcomic, since its expansion to broader issues in comics and pop culture, it can almost always be counted on for a clever perspective from a fan who also happens to work within the industry.

This week's installment is no exception, capturing fandom's love/hate relationship with gimmicks, even when they're gimmicks for gimmick's sake.

While I've tended to skim certain entries into Hulk lore of late (thanks in no small part to Red She-Hulk), I admit I've made my peace with lady Deadpool. She's not necessary per se, but as something of a gag character it's not really worth putting her under the microscope for serious reflection.

Auntie Venom though? I'd totally read that.
