Fans of childhood nostalgia, toys and the crossover between the two, prepare to surrender your spare time to Netflix. Hasbro has announced a multi-year deal with the streaming media company that will make shows based on Transformers, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe and even Jem and The Holograms available as part of Netflix's Watch Instantly service. The multiyear deal between the companies means that current shows like G.I. Joe: Renegades and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic are already available in the regular and "Just For Kids" section of Netflix's Watch Instantly catalog (Transfomers Prime and Pound Puppies will be added after their respective season finales), with classic shows like the original G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Jem & The Holograms and all manner of Transformers series (The original, Beast Wars and Battle Bots) being added later in the year.

Hasbro Studios President Stephen Davis said that the company is "pleased that consumers will now be able to watch our award-winning programming on Netflix, the leading internet subscription service... We are making our content easy to access, anytime, anywhere and on all platforms where audiences are consuming content and this is a big step forward with our all screen strategy." Netflix's VP of Content Acquisition Cindy Holland recognizes the cross-generational appeal of the properties included in the deal, describing the shows as "great kids' programming" that appeals to "both adults and kids alike."

If this move means that we're one step closer to the day when M.A.S.K. is available to me whenever I want, then this news can only be a good thing.
