It isn’t every day that Flash and Supergirl would cross universes for a musical “Duet,” so The CW is going all out to preview next Tuesday’s extravaganza. In addition to an extended trailer, check out dozens more photos of the big numbers, including some familiar Legends getting their dance on.

Seeing as we could all use something lighter to think about, Supergirl and The Flash are officially reporting for rehearsal of their big musical crossover. Not only has The CW set a late March debut for the showstopping two-part event, but we also know which Arrow-verse stars will flex their pipes.

Legends of Tomorrow likely had the most cleanup after the four-way crossover, though winter finale “The Chicago Way” did manage to catch us up with Rip Hunter; albeit a very different Rip than we remember. Now, the 2017 return trailer teases a more fully-formed Legion of Doom, with a dumbstruck Rip as their prisoner.

If ever you thought the first season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow over the top, just wait until Season 2. Not only will the team face off against a “Legion of Doom” comprised of returning villains like Malcolm Merlyn and the Reverse Flash, so too have new Justice Society of America heroes come aboard, and even a certain Mayor Queen!

The same day that saw The CW expanding its superhero ranks also brought them closer together by the upgrade of Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold to a “franchise regular” across all series. Now, Arrow baddie John Barrowman will follow suit, as Malcolm Merlyn becomes the latest DC vet to expand his horizons.

My understanding of TV's Arrow comes largely from reading ComicsAlliance's weekly recaps. Because of that, I assumed that --- Flash and Legends of Tomorrow crossovers notwithstanding --- it wasn't the kind of show that really lent itself to battles against cybernetic spider monsters. Immortal assassins and hooded vigilantes, sure, but cyber-spiders? That's right out. But now, I have been proven wrong. In the next chapter of the digital-first Arrow: The Dark Archer comic, Malcolm Merlyn is going to be facing off against a reasonably terrifying giant mutant spider. And in case you didn't know, it's a story co-written by Carole E. Barrowman and John Barrowman, the former Doctor Who star who plays Merlyn on the show, and illustrated by Daniel Sampere. Arrow crafted enough upheaval by its Season 3 finale “My Name is Oliver Queen” to leave Season 4 something of a blank slate, but it seems the League of Assassins will remain in play. Not only has John Barrowman confirmed that Malcolm Merlyn will return this fall, but so too will the “Canary sisters” have a part to play in setting up certain Legends.
