Launched this week is The Revolution Will Be Televised, a new webcomic that presents a firsthand account of the recent citizen uprising in Egypt from the point of view of visiting Americans. Written and drawn by Dov Torbin and published by ACT-I-VATE, the webcomic is a frank but humorous observance of the revolution, with a focus on the media phenomenon of communicating the experience to spectators around the world.Cartoonist Dov Torbin self-published his own book, The Deconstruction of Dov Torbin, in 2007 before creating The Revolution Will Be Televised, and is a graduate of UMass Amherst. He was traveling in Egypt with his friend Asher Berman when the uprising began, and the story will depict the effects of the experience on his and Berman's lives.

Chapter 1 of The Revolution Will Be Televised can be read now at ACT-I-VATE.
