Following months of casting updates and the trickle down of set photos, Disney has released its official plot synopsis for its Thor film sequel, Thor: The Dark World. Rather than keep fans in complete suspense, the synopsis does a lot to spell out what the thunder god will be up against on November 8, 2013. The presumably accursed dark elf Malekith (played by former Doctor and Destro Christopher Eccleston) is named as the main bad dude and it's made plain that Thor will be reunited with Jane Foster. Now all fans need to make sense of is the matter of Thor being forced to "sacrifice everything to save us all." Screenwriters Christopher Yost, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wouldn't really make Thor sacrifice his righteous dance moves to save the Nine Realms, would they?Disney's full official synopsis:

Marvel's "Thor: The Dark World" continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel's "Thor" and "Marvel's The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos ... but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.
