Batman: The Animated Series is one of the most celebrated shows ever made. It had a huge impact on all of the DC Universe, and all the animated series that would follow. After a few seasons, the show was rebooted with a new look and a new dynamic as The New Batman Adventures, where it continued to be just as amazing as ever (although featuring a slightly less cool looking Joker). With a better budget and more experience, the team behind Batman: The Animated Series was ready to create some of the best episodes of --- not just the DCAU's Batman, but for the DCAU entirely.

Now the show was about the Batfamily, following the lives of Batgirl, Batman, Nightwing, and the new Robin, Tim Drake, opening up new avenues for stories and characters, and setting the stage for how the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited would handle their teams. The show developed more of an authentic comic book feel --- revealing an ever-expanding and interesting Gotham, one that Batman himself wasn't always a part of or even aware of. The show grew from its roots and became a darker, more clever, more interesting show and we've got the episodes to prove it!

(Honorable mentions go to "Joker’s Millions," for being wacky as heck; "You Scratch My Back," for featuring the Nightwing/Catwoman shipping we never knew we wanted; "Beware the Creeper," for showing us Joker would be just as horrible if he were a “hero;” and "The Ultimate Thrill" for giving us the weirdest animated villain ever, in the form of the rocket-riding rockette, Roxy Rocket.)
