Sporting a brand-new comic-friendly suit in Arrow Season 4, as well finally assuming the moniker of Green Arrow, Stephen Amell will take the CW character ever-closer to his DC roots by the fall return. That said, Amell hilariously refuted a suggestion that we’ll ever see The CW’s Oliver Queen sporting the comic character’s famous facial hair.

Ever one to play with the press over social media, Amell took a moment to vigorously shoot down a recent report suggesting Oliver Queen might extend his usual scruff into the classic Green Arrow goatee for Season 4:

Of course, even with the Season 4 suit redesign, one can’t help notice seemingly permanent fixtures of the Arrow look, keeping a hooded approach over the early comics’ more Robin Hood-inspired cap and feather. Fourteen seasons also ranks a generous guess, even for Arrow (:::Nervously eyes Supernatural Season 11:::), though it’s likely Amell’s Arrow look will continue to evolve in the years to come. Just not the face, apparently.

Elsewhere of Arrow Season 4, we know the fourth year is expected to somewhat creatively revamp the series after its Season 3 finale saw Oliver retiring the vigilante lifestyle. In addition to a focusing on DC villains H.I.V.E. and Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Season 4 will also introduce Jeri Ryan’s Jessica Danforth, J.R. Bourne’s Double Down, Echo Kellum’s Mr. Terrific, Alexander Calvert’s Anarky, and White Canary before her Legends of Tomorrow role. Apart from Wendy Mericle’s elevation to co-showrunner alongside Marc Guggenheim, we also know that Punisher: War Zone director Lexi Alexander will helm an episode.

Plenty will change with the coming arrival of Arrow Season 4, but are we disappointed the series will shy away from some classic elements of the character? Could Amell change his tune down the line?
