ComicsAlliance Week-in-Review: April 28 – May 4

It’s a big weekend in the wonderful world of comics, as Saturday, May 5 is Free Comic Book Day. You can find your nearest participating comic book shop here, and, if you need any suggestions for what to pick up, Chris Sims has a few here. And, because it’s a weekend during convention season, there’s also a big comic book convention this weekend, the Toronto Comics Art Festival, for which we’ve got a guide right here.

Oh, and I think there might be a movie of some interest to some comic readers in theaters this weekend…?

Lauren Davis on Digger

Chris Sims on Batman Family #1

Lauren Davis on Overside

Andrew Wheeler continues his titanic struggle against Avengers Vs. X-Men, which has reached its third issue

Anna Goellner has a gallery of photos of creators from last weekend’s Stumptown Comics Fest… although based on sharp Batton Lash (above) is dressed, I think maybe this belongs below in the “Fashion” category instead of up here under “Conventions”

There’s going to be a MorrisonCon in Las Vegas this fall, and the first five of the nine guests who aren’t going to be Grant Morrison have been announced
