Superman and Batman -- or rather, actors dressed like them -- are a familiar fixture in Times Square, where they earn money by posing for pictures with tourists.

The New York City police recently cracked down on the practice, arresting two men dressed as Superman and Batman when they failed to produce permits to perform in public. While Batman was uncharacteristically cooperative during the arrest, Superman refused to go gently, and it apparently took seven cops to take him down after he punched a female officer in the face.

For another take on people posing as costumed superheroes, check out the award-winning documentary "Confessions of a Superhero," which followed a group of actors dressing as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the Hulk in Los Angeles.
