The identity of Mads Mikkelsen’s mysterious villain in Doctor Strange has been the subject of much speculation, with fans assuming the former Hannibal star is either playing classic comic baddies like Dormammu or Nightmare. Those would be good guesses, but they’re both incorrect — it turns out Mikkelsen is playing an antagonist most people have never even heard of before, but one that might make for a much more interesting story.

Potential spoilers to follow:

Heroic Hollywood received images from an upcoming Marvel Minimates action figure set, which lists Mikkelsen’s character name as Kaecilius. You might be saying, “Um, who?” and you’re not alone. He’s not the first character you’d think of, and he’s not someone with whom casual fans are familiar. But this is definitely who Mikkelsen is playing in the film, as initially rumored late last year.

For the unfamiliar, Kaecilius is a disciple of Baron Mordo, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor in Marvel’s upcoming film. In the comics, Mordo and Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) are fellow students of The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), but the former becomes power-hungry and cooks up a scheme to take their wise teacher’s power. Kaecilius assisted Mordo in his plot, which was — obviously — foiled by Strange.

Mikkelsen has previously said that his character is “not really a baddie,” but has a different perspective from Cumberbatch’s mystical protagonist.

The set also seemingly confirms that Rachel McAdams is playing Christine Palmer, aka Night Nurse — a role that was heavily speculated for some time, particularly when the Daredevil team revealed that Marvel wouldn’t allow them to use the character on their Netflix series.

Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 3.
