‘Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2′ to Address Ongoing Gaming Issues

Just as Akira Toriyama’s “Dragon Ball” manga epic became so bloated in anime form that it required severe trimming in the new 100-episode “Dragon Ball Kai,” so has the DB video game franchise been hampered by slow downs in the form of graphical limitations. Even as technology has caught up with the demands DB’s lightning quick battles and energy manipulations present, it’s been difficult to master immersing players in that kind of experience. Current license holder Namco Bandai is reportedly well aware of these wrinkles, however, and plans to iron them out with the upcoming release of “Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2.”

According to Japanese gaming site Andriasang, the new game will feature an all-new “Impact View System,” which will speed up or slow down fighting and better put players into the perspective of the more than 90 characters (20 brand new) they can control in the game. That outlook should come in handy while demolishing DBRB2’s new fully-destructible environments.

Another aspect of the game’s improved visuals will include advanced character movement, facial expressions and other animation aspects touted to hit anime levels of detail and fluidity.

That all sounds great, but I can safely say that I’ll just be happy with a “powering up” mechanic that doesn’t take five minutes when the game hits on the Xbox 360 and PS3 before year’s end.[Via AnimeVice]
