From The Sixth Gun to Helheim to Wasteland, Oni Press has had its supernatural adventure comic bases covered for a bit now, but this October writer Charles Soule and artist Alberto Alburquerque will be bringing some sci-fi into the fold in their new series, Letter 44.

Described by Oni's James Lucas Jones in an official press release as "a new sci-fi series that asks 'How would people act when faced with a true threat?'", Letter 44 will kick off with a newly inaugurated President Blades opening the eponymous letter left to him by the outgoing commander in chief that contains information about a secret construction project NASA discovered in a remote asteroid belt seven years ago. The construction project's mysterious nature prompted the outgoing president to launch an investigation, which is already progress when Blades inherits responsibility over a crew of astronauts who are about six months from their target.

From Oni's official press release:

"This is a story I've been working on for several years, and I'm very excited to see it come to fruition. Alberto's very conscious of the technical details of the spacecraft and other sci-fi elements, as well as the Earth-based stuff. His work is amazing, and I couldn't be happier with the look of the book."
