While the constant barrage of Hollywood announcements about comics-to-film projects are no longer surprising, motion comics and animation suddenly seem like the hottest train to jump on, with more and more comics moving towards movement:

-- The "Kick-Ass" movie will have a 60-90 second sequence that animates the art of John Romita Jr. (a.k.a. the artist of the "Kick-Ass" comic).

-- The still irritatingly-named Syfy Channel will be airing "motion comics" based on "Street Fighter" and "Voltron" in late September, and then sell them as downloads on iTunes, Xbox Live, and the Playstation store.

-- The new trailer for the "Astonishing X-Men" motion comic is up on the web, with the full release slated for October 28th.

--Finally, the haunting, anthropomorphic comics of Norwegian indie artist Jason are being adapted into an animated short, with two ominous clips from "Shhh!" previewed after the jump.
